" CommunicAsia 2010 saw a fascinating amalgam of communications solutions, which will soon usher in a new era of connectivity" Sonia Sharma
CommunicAsia 2010, one of Asia’s most prestigious communication events, transpired in Singapore, between 15 and 18 June 2010. This year also, the exhibition came alive with scintillating displays of technology from world's leading companies. The footfalls were impressive. Journalists, bloggers, analysts, senior industry executives and others, crowded the booths to have an eyeful of the latest innovations and ideas. As compared to last year, this year the response to CommunicAsia was pretty encouraging. From satellite communications to cellular connectivity, from back-end equipment to mobile phones, cutting edge technology of all types was on display. While Skype introduced new innovations in the IP calling segment, Yahoo! announced its association with Alcatel mobiles to launch an innovative service in India.
If anything, the India story commanded a huge attention, with the TEPC pavilion grabbing the eyeballs of thousands of visitors. Leading Indian brand Spice Mobiles was there to showcase some of their latest and upcoming products and services. Coolpad, another brand that has launched a few CDMA phones in collaboration with Reliance, India’s leading CDMA operator, introduced the N900, a 3G smartphone for the Indian market. On the international front, the NTT DoCoMo stall was a crowd puller with its range of latest phones. Samsung showcased the Galaxy S, an Android powered device, which features the latest Swype technology for input.

Be it smart phones, accessories or applications and software, CommunicAsia 2010 was the right place to get a glimpse of what the futuristic zeitgeist of mobile telephony is going to be like. 3D technologies dominated the exhibition at BroadcastAsia2010. International and local exhibitors such as AV8 Media, Cine Equipment, Harris Corporation, Panasonic and Sony Electronics announced their latest professional equipment, solutions and technologies for broadcasters and production companies. CommunicAsia2011 and BroadcastAsia2011, is scheduled to be held at new venues Marina Bay Sands and Suntec Singapore respectively from 21-24 June 2011.
